Default Difficulty viewing and navigating when composing thread containing long url's

So - when composing a post, if a long url is in the post, it becomes difficult to view the full width of the lines of text or place the cursor where needed in a line without using very tedious tricks, especially in a complex post. When this problem is present, the "Preview Post" and "Submit Reply" buttons are nowhere to be seen or accessed (likely skewed to one side or the other of the visible part of the page?).

I guess it could be described in general as the editing window becoming wider than the visible screen.

I realize this is likely inherent in the complexity of how the software has to parse the page and strings of text for displaying on the page, but is there a feasible, user-friendly solution to this frustrating first-world problem?

Not sure if this is a problem on "real" computers - may only be a problem when using phones due to smaller screens. (Using mobile site has its own problems and frustrations.)

I need a screen capture to see what you're reporting. Regardless, as you know, there is X amount of space available on the screen and it sounds like that may be the issue.

Mine has been doing this recently too. Never did it before. If a thread is more than one page on desktop it freezes, won't load posts, doesn't resolve itself. Has always worked fine otherwise.

This does not sound like the same as being reported. Your issue is either going to be a browser or plugin issue, or possibly a system that is dated.

I'm using the Brave browser on my iPhone. I'll set up a post with the problem in the Test forum and do a screen capture. Will also see if the problem occurs with the same post in the Safari browser on the iPhone. Also will try it in my Windows desktop to see if that is immune to the problem.

It turns out it is a Brave browser quirk. I'm not going to bother posting screen shots, but what they would show is that, with a long URL pasted into a "Reply To Thread" window, rather than automatic line wrapping of the editable text and URL, the formatting widgets at the top of the edit window, and the "Submit Reply" and "Preview Post" buttons at the bottom of the edit window, they and the right side of the edit window frame all extend off the right side of the screen and are inaccessible by scrolling. The work around is to invoke the "Source" mode before pasting in the long URL (because once the long URL is pasted in, the Source button disappears to the right, totally off screen - proper line wrapping occurs in Source mode ).

I do not get the problem in the Safari browser on the iPhone or in Chrome on my Windows desktop. Brave has one other annoying quirk in CF that I posted about a few months ago: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...crewed-up.html

It is understandable that you would not pursue either of these problems as they both appear to be unique to the Brave browser, which is not very commonly used and is much less refined/debugged than the much more mainstream browsers. At least you will be aware of these quirks if you get "complaints" about them again.
