I use Firefox and lately been getting a message this webpage is slowing your computer down do you wish to stop it? At first I thought is was my old antique home computer but I also get the same message while at work
Any suggestions? Only during breaks or lunch hour - don't take advantage of work internet use.

I use Firefox 99.9% of the time. I do not have this issue.
Please provide more information, to start with:
1. What OS is being used, including version.
2. Extensions that are in use
3. Anti-virus or other security software in use
4. Link to a specific page that generates the issue
1. Windows 10 with the latest updates.
2. Https everywhere and uBlock origin ad blocker.
3. Webroot Secure Anywhere and whatever Windows has activated.
4. Dang near every page. Random pic thread, political meme thread, What did you do to your C7 thread, Off topic, P&R just to name a few.

I tested with a clean profile in troubleshoot mode (no extensions) and still no issue, logged in as normal user and logged out as Guest.
I will say that for threads like the Random pic thread, political meme thread, etc., that's probably going to be part of the issue. A bunch of pictures or gifs do consume resources on any browser.
Two machines doing this, one win 10 other win 11, Norton 360, all the latest updates on all of them, fast machines.
Firefox with following extensions, Gostery ad tracker, video download helper, easy you tube video download helper.
From my end it looks like the problems are with the loading of gifs, pictures, anything memory extensive, if the error doesn't appear, it just stops loading the page until it can catch back up before the stop error appears.
