Muncie 4 speed, Ive got issues
I need a gear box Guru, I currently have a Muncie 4 speed S/N 3925660 & 8088336 1968-1970 on a 4.6l 283. Sitting in a 1960 C1. Problem is it Drops or pops out of first gear at the lights? then I cant find a gear to select, even doubling the clutch? Ultimately I end up forcing it onto gear to get going. Normally happens during a decent run & or when on an incline? Clutch is good, Oil is correct & linkages feel smooth? because it is intermittent Im not sure where to look? my mechanic is reluctant to drop the gear box because on testing we cant replicate. help appreciated. I'm in New Zealand in the deep south Island.
