This could be due to a large thread, posting wise, and your settings as to how many posts are shown per page as well as a combination of factors such as lower-end hardware specs and/or bloat.
My recommendation is to 1) change your settings in your UserCP to lower the amount of posts shown per page and/or 2) remove extensions in Chrome and/or 3) check your pc for excessive bloatware.
