Default cannot understand how to read private messages

Let me be specific since I asked this before and was told to hit on the "topic". The private message looks like this

Left side
initials of sender maybe picture date and time

there is no topic and when I press the left side nothing, when I go to bottom and use menu to "read messages", nothing.
SPECIFICALLY, please take me through the steps to read a message
Thank you

I'm still not certain what the issue is. The private message system hasn't changed in atleast 20 years so if it had changed for you, then that's part of the issue that may explain why there is a problem.

You go to your private message list:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/private.php

The above link can be accessed by click on the upper-right bell icon and click on Unread Private Messages or Total Private Messages. Or go to UserCP, by clicking on the Gear icon next to it, and then List messages.

Any of the above goes to the first referenced link, which then looks like this:

Click on the title/subject of the PM to open it.

I see the problem. There is never a title with the messages I am receiving from the person.

No, title/subject are required by the sender.

If they're not displaying, there is something with your browser.

I have no problem/issue with anything else on the forum nor with any other computer function.

if you are saying a prerequisite to send a message is a title then something is wrong. Have no idea what.
