blown87 a.k.a Greg Nettles
It is with shock, great sadness, sorrow, and disbelief that I must post this thread on the passing, yesterday, of my good friend Greg Nettles known on this forum as blown87.
I first got the news today at Noon on Rennlist's 928 forum
I'm at a loss for words; I'm still processing this. Greg was one of the few human beings I've met in my life who always said what he thought, meant what he said, and who was not afraid to say "I don't know." He was a sharp guy but rarely assumed he knew all there was to know about a subject. He was always learning something new. We spent a lot of time talking about working on Other People's Cars, and Greg was one of a very few who always 'did it right' and stood by his work.
I will miss his humor, his straight talk, and his friendship.
Little is known, yet, about any of the particulars of his passing or of when a service in his memory will be held. It is likely that any information on those subjects will be first posted on Rennlist.
Godspeed Greg. Rest in peace Brother.

Looking through the RennList posts, he was older than I envisioned - but then, so am I. ;-)

Those that wish attend a celebration of Greg Nettles life on Saturday afternoon January 19th in Peachtree City GA, should get in touch with Paul at p51hunt@bellsouth.net
It will be held in his hanger. That's all the details I have. Paul asked me to post this for Greg's 'vette friends here.

I didn't know Greg but he sounds like the kind of guy this old world needs more of. It's so very sad to lose someone that touches other lives in such a positive way. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Definitely in shock and just heard a few days ago. It had been a year or two since I talked to Greg getting some advice when I was working on my '52 Harley. RIP Greg
