I just won a 1973 Stingray! I would call it a 20 footer. It looks great from 20 feet but when you get closer, you notice the little things. The engine was rebuilt and is supposed to be pushing about 300 HP. The interior is in good shape but not great. I will likely redo the interior this year and the paint and body in a few years. I bought the ticket from a Lions Club raffle and only did so because I like to support the causes. I am a cop and I want people to buy our raffles and play in our golf tournaments so I always buy the tickets that are $25.00 and under. I will bore you with a little story about it....
The local Knights of Columbus always raffles a new Corvette every year. The car sits parked about 1/10 mile from my house and my 10 year old son asked me to buy a ticket. I told him the tickets were $100.00 each. He said I should buy one, he had a good feeling. I told him I would and if we won, he could have the car. Well, I never got around to buying the ticket and the raffle went off and the car was gone. He says to me, "You never bought the ticket and now the car is gone." I appologized and promised to buy one next year. He said "You know, you still have the ticket for the 73 Vette on the fridge, maybe you'll win that one." I said, "Yeah Dan, maybe." and never gave it a thought. Well, the next day I get a call from the Lions Club saying I won. I couldn't believe it. I always thought the winner was a member and the drawings were fixed. Apparently not. I have no affiliation and the club is in another state.
Anyway, I am new here and plan on keeping it so hopefully i will find this site as informative as I do the Vrodforums.com site and the RV forum site I belong to.
Sounds like a great father & son project! Welcome.
Spending time with my Dad wrenching on cars is basically where I got most of my experience working on cars, and have lots of fun memories. Learned a lot of little mistakes too, lol.

Yeah, I am sure there will be many little "mistakes" along the way. No experience with vettes at all. I am looking forward to it though.
