Hi Mike,
Good choice of Corvettes in the '96 Collectors Edition. I was looking hard at that model before I decided to spring for the C6.
My first five cars were MoPars - Question: Why has Chrysler not made engines as reliable as the Slant Six and the 318 in more recent years ? ? ? ? ? ? ? My first car, a 1964 Valiant with the 170 cubic inch slant six ran up to 200,000 miles with no engine work (other than oil changes) whatsoever .
I've had mine for three years and have yet to make any needed mechanical repairs. However, I just developed a stress crack in the windshield. Perhaps it was caused by aux hardtop put on for winter. Anyone else have such a problem?

I'm also looking for my first Corvette with a 1996 Collectors Edition being at the top of the list. The only problem is my height may keep me out of it. Would be too bad since I really like the car. Good luck with yours.
