Newbie here!
A little about myself, I am a beginner when it comes to the Vette world. I have loved them as long as I can remember. There have been two members of my family that have owned vettes. Both where brothers. My uncle in Fl that had a early 70's vette. He traded it for a late 60's mustang a while back. That's all I really know about it though. We really haven't talked much. My other uncle had a 89 or 90 (may be second thread title: How to tell the difference, if there is one, btween a 89 and 90.) C-4 convertible with the hard top. Triple black, 5 speed (I think). He bought it brand new. He passed away a year later and my aunt was forced to get rid of the car. I loved my uncle very much and the car was just a bonus. He tried to teach my mom (his sister) how to drive standard for the first time on it. I think it was a one time lesson!
Anyways, I'm a little older now and I still have the infatuation (sp) with vettes. I have started the search for his old vette. I don't think I'll have a lot of luck, but it's worth a try. At the very least I'm going to talk with my aunt and try to figure out the options it had so I can find one close to it. So that is my mission. I plan on sticking around here for a while to learn more about them from you guys while I am searching for my C-4. I'll probably hang in the C-4 forum the most.
Well that's about it. Sorry I don't have a vette of my own to show off, but it's in the works! I have a snowmobile, which I love, but this is the second winter mother nature has thwarted me. It's tough to have my machine sitting in the garage for 2 years and no miles on it. So I have moved on to a summer toy! I look forward to my stay here. A special thanks to Vtette for helping me get my account activated! Thanks man!

(PS: Biggest difference between the 89 and 90 is the dash - 89 was the last year of the all digital dash and wheels with center cap covering the lugs. 90 dash is curved/rounded and the 90 wheels have exposed lugs. 89 was the first year for the 6 speed manual although not a lot of 89's are equiped with it. There may be some other subtle differences.)

Hold that thought, I can't post pics? Oh well. I'm pretty sure it's a 89 from the looks of it.
