I purchased a new 2006 C6 on January 2, 2007. It was the last 2006 the dealer had so I got a great deal on it. It is a Victory Red six speed coupe with the Z51 package. Those were the two things I was looking for the six speed and the Z51 package.
I have never owned a Corvette, but always wanted one. My prior sports car is a 2003 Nissan 350Z which is highly modified (brakes, suspension, driveline and motor NA). I ordered it when the 350Z first came out in late 2002. I guess I was ready to move on to something new. Now I am going to sell the Z since I really don't have a place to keep it and don't want to pay taxes and insurance on two sports cars.
Anyway enough about that. I just wanted to introduce myself and start exploring the forum. I have used the 350Z forums since I got my Z to learn more about the car and how to best modify it. I am hoping to do the same here, although I don't plan to modify my Vette as much as I did the Z. It already has so much performance.
Also I consider myself a car guy. I have always loved cars and have had many different sporty cars over the years. I have to say the Corvette is the best sports car I have owned to date. I also respect and appreciate the history of cars like the Corvette and the Z. That heritage is part of what makes the car what it is. I have been a member of my local Z club since before I purchased my Z and I hope to join a local Corvette Club now. I actually know several of the guys in my local Corvette Club from going to car shows.
