Well I picked up the Vett today and I am so Pleased with it, it definanately feels like I am driving a supercar. I have some good options, active handing performance axle 3.15 gears sports seats and magnesium alloys $3,000 option & CD player.

I had 4 Camaros over the years the last being a 99 Z28 LS1 Fast as F--k but the difference is like night and day. I have had a C4 Vett aswell and this is streets better.

Here are a few pics I took after giving the Vett a polish.

Very nice, and welcome aboard! Love the Euro taillights. And are those wheels later than '97?

Make sure you hit C5 Gen!!

Thanks, I'm not sure when the magnesium alloys were offered as an extra?

They could well have been put on by a previous owner.

Someone on here will know!

I will check out C5 Gen do you have a web address for them as I did a search on google?

I just had a look here:

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...97/97prod.html

And magnesium wheels were not offered until 98, so was active handling.

I have both of these on my 97 Vett and I have checked the vin and the year digit is V for 97.

Maybe it's something that was offered on European models. I will look at all my RPO codes soon and see what they say!

Cheers Andy

Thanks, yes most people I speak to like them. When I am driving the Vett lots of people are looking at the car.

The last American car I had that had with was the 82 Black Trans Am and I was driving that when the Knightrider series was on UK TV.

Mind you the kids went wild when they saw that car.

Petrol is expensive here 83.9p per litre which is £3.77 a gallon ($6.97)

They changed it over to litres about 10 years ago so they could rip us off easier, because every 1p rise a litre is 4.5p a gallon more.

They don't call this rip off Britain for nothing!

I only do about 4,000 miles a year so the cost of the fuel is not a big problem for me, even though I use my Vett everyday to get to work and I go to shows and drag racing with the Vett.

Welcome Andy. Nice Vette, I'm sure it set you back a few pounds! My daughter lives in the UK, I spent two weeks there this past summer and know about the price of petro! Can't remember if I seen any Vettes or not, but I'm sure you stand out. I never did get used to driving on the opposite side of the road that I am accustomed to - especially in the 'round-abouts' Happy motoring!

Thanks Vettes are expensive in the UK for what I paid I could get a ZO6 in the USA, but even though USA vettes are cheaper buy, by the time you pay to have it shipped to the UK and pay import duty and VAT 17.5% it is still cheaper to buy them here.

Petrol is the equivilant of $7 a gallon I only do 4,000miles a year so fuel cost is not a problem.

Cheers Andy
