I am a newbie as the title says. Someone reccomended I try this site it would be a wealth of information. I hope to learn a lot, and maybe find my first Corvette. For those of you who have purchased, and do's and don'ts would be great. I'm curious if you use an escrow service or just deal direct? Me, I'll be looking for an every day driver. Can't wait!
Welcome aboard. If your considering a new Corvette I recommend using one of the Corvette Forum Supporting Dealers as a point to begin your search. Kerbeck, Fichtner, Les Daniels to name a few.

Welcome from York,PA. Suggestion - if your going to look at a car thats been in "storage". It might be a good idea to find out what storage means to that seller. Sitting in a cold damp barn or out behind a garage in the weather isn't storage. Critters making nests, eating the insulation off the wire and pooping in the vents is a problem. Belts, hoses and all those items we never seam to notice all of a sudden become an issue. Nuts, bolts and the frame still rusts in a high moisture area. Might look pristine outside but the inside needs to be carefully looked at. Point is - there is a lot to consider on a storage car. Finally the value of the car is not the NADA book value. I found that HAGERTY, an antique & classic car insurer, has a pretty good idea of what the cars value is. Their total loss value is a good indication of whats its worth based on the condition the car is in. Theyre in the business not to loose money.

Thanks. I already dropped a note to one of the dealers, and had a quick reply. I forget which one it was off the top of my head, but he has no fees and the prices seemed really good compared to what I have been witnessing locally and on autotrader.com. He seemed very respectful of my needs and is helping me look for a rider. I commute 70 miles a day and want something to ride not sit in a garage. I've learned a lot already, but the acronyms are hard to follow sometimes. Is there a dictionary somewhere?
Thanks for the information. I am looking for a recent model that I can ride every day. By the way congrats on being from York. Thats the home of my other passion, Harley. Loved the tour of the plant for softtails. Take care.
