Default 78 L82

Im new to the site, logged on to find info on 1978 L82 vettes, I just bought one that has been stored since 1993. Amazingly i put some fresh fuel in and a battery and it started, but did not drive it, it got trailered home. The car seems to be all original and is very good shape. But now its in my garage getting a makeover, top to bottom front to back.It is black with doe skin leather, T-tops, 4 speed muncie. If anybody has any suggestions on things to look for or tips on restoring i would greatly appreciate them.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you got a great Corvette. Anxious to see the photos when you can get them up.

1st question: There should be a **** in front of the seat that you slide to the right. Then, you should be able to pull the seat forward. Sometimes they're stubborn.

2nd question: The **** under the dash is to lock the headlights in place. Once the headlights are on, if you wish to keep them up after turning them off, pull the switch down. Push the switch back up to close.

Hope this helps.

Well what do you think? I will have some progress pics soon, the car is starting to look better now except it has no interior now, under the hood is getting there waiting for some more parts to come in.

Default Welcome!

Welcome to the forum. I wish I had kept my 78-L82 four speed. Working on a couple of 89 Vettes at this time.

Good luck with the project.

I always believed older ones should be kept original.

Default mod man mod

I am leaning towards making mods to the motor, but keeping the stock appearance and stock interior. Firm beleiver that you can never have to many ponies under the hood. Suggestions for the best place to get replacement carpet, i have been using corvette america for parts and their quality is good but so is the price. Remember the wave?
