After 58 years (hence the name), finally got a Corvette. Took delivery over the weekend of a 2006 (leftover) Black Coupe, red interior, all the gizmo's. Really love it.

In the Sacramento area, looking forward to some good information here, good times, and good driving.

I also ride a motorcycle (2000 Honda VFR), have always been a car guy that likes performance.

I'll be asking lots of questions, there's a lot I don't know about. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the welcome. I giggle every time I drive it. Haven't been this excited about a car for a long, long time.

Welcome from another Sacramento youth challenged Vette owner. We purchased a 2006 vert last March. Our first as well. I totally understand what you mean when you say you "giggle" every time you drive it. It just makes you feel so dang good!!!

Thanks. nkhan52, I'm thinking of joining the River City Corvettes Club. My son's old high school football coach belongs, and asked me join.

What part of Sacramento?

Nort, don't know how old you are, but age is just a number. Beats that alternatives!

I don't think you ever get too old to be Corvette crazy! I bought my first new one in 1974 after an earlier used 62 and 63. That was 33 years ago, and I'm still "Vetting" Enjoy and keep on giggling!
Happy motoring!

Your Right! I was just retired at 53 years old before I ever sat in one, let alone own it!

Rio Linda/Elverta area. Actually, we've been thinking about joining the River City Corvette Club as well. With our schedules and all, I'm just not sure we'd be able to participate very often. Everyone where I work keeps telling me I need to join a club. I think it would be a lot of fun. I guess I just need to make the move and join. Have you heard much about them? I've visited their website a few times, but other than that I don't know too much.

nkhan52-only what my friend has told me. They do some runs, have a 3 day trip to San Simeon planned for late April. Thought it might be a way to meet some new folks with a common interest. Can never have too many friends.

RFJohnston-Yes I did. Had a leftover 2006 that pushed all my buttons. My office is in San Francisco and generally spend 2 days per week there. This makes the trip more fun.

Nice pictures of a fine car - particularly the red interior. I see you have the F55 suspension - which I should have purchased with my C6. You're gonna giggle for a long time.

And you did not wait too long to get your Vette, I got mine last year as a 60th Birthday present, to myself.

Thanks. Wasn't really sure about the red interior when I first saw it, but I remembered that most Vettes when back in the 50's and 60's seemed to have red interior. I didn't think the wife of 38+ years would like it, but she liked the red over the other choices. After all these years, I still don't have a clue as to what she's going to say or do. Go figure!
