Default urban legend

hi guys ,newbie here. thanks for having me. need help dispelling urban legend on a 54 corvette 6 cyl. I bought a 50 chevy 2 ton farm truck at auction and all the older gents swore up and down thats what this truck has in it.there is a 3 x2bbl zenith carb setup that was taken off because it was troublesome.the only casting # I have so far is off the side of the head, pass side.they are @5 918
241
570or 670
where are the casting# for the block?
any help would be appreciated.and would help me decide what to do.molest or preserve. thanks, americarkid

Note: Changeover from 1st to 2nd design occurred between block casting dates "J133" and "J163" (October 13-16, 1953).



1954

Corvette Engine Block Casting Notes

Six-cylinder casting numbers are located in a recess just below, and forward of, the fuel pump mounting boss, above the crankcase oil pan mounting lip. Block casting dates are located at the right rear side of the block, next to the starter motor solenoid.
