Hello everyone , Im new and just retired . I was a Justice of the Peace for 16 years, and a Law enforcement officer before that . I live in a very small town of Duncan Arizona . Well anyway ,I have always had a love for corvetts . My first memory of a car that attracted my attention ,believe it or not was a corvette when I was around 6 years old . Im 56 years old now by the way . I never thought I could afford a vette even after marriage with two kids . My retirement was in december and my wife bought me a very nice 84 vette, its something im very proud of and I love it dearly . I have never driven a car that well....is so enjoyable and fun . I had a 68 roadrunner in college and it was cool ,but nothing like this . I will probobly get a ticket or two and see the nice new judge that has taken my place . I have memorized all the excuses in the world for speeding from the last 29 years or so ,I hope the new judge will buy into at least one of them if I get caught hehehe. I do have major transmission problems with my vette right now but I will address that later . Thanks ,Richard
Congrats on your retirement and your retirement present! Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will find many new friends here. You might even want to "share" some of those good speeding excuses.
Thank you all so much . I want to learn as much as I can also . Im from the days of 283 ci and such . Learning the simple things first wow its exciting to me. I realize that an 84 vette is not the ultimate and for a few its probobly very little ,but to me right now its a world I want to expand on and in time buy another ...but thats later . Im having fun for a change in my life . I am having transmission problems right now ,after a warming it wont go into gears . I also need a way to get under it also, going shopping today and see what I can find . Thanks again ./Richard
Welcome Richard! You should know or have heard of all the tricks. We just don't want to see you on a clip from one of those TV shows about cops chasing idiots! LOL.
congrats Richard, My name is Butch and im the assistant chief of police in a citey just outside of New Orleans..got 168 days till retirement, id love to move to Arizona when i do...sick of this weather.. enjoy the next chapter in your life,Butch
OH wow ....retirement is a blast, you just cant imagine it till your there . I took on a two day job for awhile in the Magistrate court just to help out and get a little pocket change . I will probobly bail outa that totally next year when my wife retires as a school nurse . I have decided last night that I am going to sign up for a automotive class at Eastern Arizona College . I need to learn more to make this hobby of mine complete . I can only do so much than it becomes guesswork and hit and miss ....hmmmm ,why did my wife suddenly come to mind?. Oh well ...good luck ....I am going under the vette this morning and change the filter and fliuid and see what happens . Take Care ///Richard
Well I changed the filter and fluid in the tranny .I was hopeful because the fluid and filter seemed so foul. No third gear still .NO PROBLEM...it;s off to the transmission shop in Las Cruces NM . I understand there is a guy who is awsome at rebuilding these type's, I might locate him and talk to him . Well heck nap time...retirements wonderful. Richard
Law enforcement??!! Justs remember my name and face. I have never speeded, and I never will. I have never broken any laws, and I never will. No need to give me any tickets because there is no body in the trunk.
I am also selling memorial bricks for the Brooklyn Bridge, with a special price for LEOs.
