I'm new to this forum and in fact, haven't had a Corvette in many years. However I'm about ready to buy a 2008 and take the plunge. My question may be rather simple to the experts but here goes....would you please explain the option groups, ie Lt1, 2, 3, 4,...which are the most popular concerning personal preference and resale. If you're 65 and live in a very hilly area does it make sense to buy a stick if you're driving it everyday? I like polished aluminum wheels but do chrome hold up just as well? And any other tips I should know when purchasing my first Corvette. My first was a used 1970 which has long since given way to raising a family, etc. Thanks in advance for your help.
Welcome to the forum. I just bought a new 07. The 2LT worked for me. I didn't get many other options. I am going to purchase after market chome wheels, they are about 1/3 the price that the factory wants for the chrome. If I would have ordered the car, I would have opted for the Competition Grey wheels, at $395 they are a bargain. They are selling used on here for more than that and people are willing to trade chrome or polished for them in many instances. If you got to Chevy.com they will send you a catalog showing all the options. I found the base car was loaded enough for me. The 2LT added the power passenger seat and side impact airbags.
