I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Joe Distinct and I own an automotive customizing facility in Port Jefferson, NY called Distinct Motor Sports. I currently own a 2006 Chrysler 300 SRT 8 6.1 HEMI and just yesterday looked at what may be my first Vette purchase. Ever since my Godfather brough home his new 86 Vette in 1986, I have been in love with them. It's time to purchase one!! I have heard a lot of good things about this forum from being in the business so I figured the best starting point for my future Vette ordeals is here! Glad to be here!!! I welcome any and all suggestions and comments.
You'll need to decide whether you want a modern chassis with a computer-controlled motor or something old school.
Best of both worlds might be to put a first generation body on a C4 or C5 chassis.
I was actually looking at an '86 C4 just the other day. It has a total body kit on it including the fender pieces which make it have that Ferrari kind of look. It looks like a total '80 car so what I was thinking of doing was striping it down and installing the C5 body kit and customizing that with little Distinct touches.
