New guy from NC
I frequently browse but figured I'd finally register. I'm looking at gettinig either a C5 Z06 or a 2006 B.O.M GTO. I'd really like a C6 Z06 but it's not in the budget anytime soon.
The wife would rather the GTO only because of the backseat for the kids (2 boys), but I said that's what her car is for (TrailBlazer SS). So anybody want to talk me into the C5Z???

That's exactly what I said to my wife! 
I understand you are dreaming of the C5Z. Look around, here in the Forums, Forum vendors and other places. Check out a few vettes, check prices, etc. Test drive a few. Soon you will get the "feel" of what you want and do NOT want. Look for the deals to determine what it will cost. Figure out how you can make it happen - now or just when in the future. Then work your plan.

Take your wife on a test drive in the Z06 and don't scare the hell out of her. Be gentle. She'll probably be wearing the "permagrin" by the time the ride is over.
