Default Hello All - Possible unique situation?

My name is John Hartman. I currently have and am selling my 2004 Cobra. I am selling it and taking on a 2nd job in order to get myself _completely_ out of debt save for my mortgage. I am not in a "have to" situation, but have just decided I'd like to make progress on debt that I have, faster than I am in my current situation. Listening to http://www.daveramsey.com/ every day has me motivated to make this move. The plan is to save for a year once the debt is gone (a couple years at least) and buy me a 2 year old, 5k miles or less LS3 car. The Mrs. couldn't be happier, she likes the Cobra, but she loves Vettes.

I don't know how you Guy's feel about a Guy without a car on the forums, so I am putting it out there. I will be lurking about 99% of the time, but may post some positive comments here and there. Please let me know if this is "ok".

Here is some info and whatnot about my current car and past car.

About the Cobra:
It's got some handling/chassis stiffening mods and a little over 500 rwhp / 500 rwtq. I am pretty particular about keeping it clean. I have been to the track 1 time with it, didn't make a good pass. My first pass ever with the car was a decent one, but the inlet air temps were on the dangerous side. It went 11.56 @ 121.5 I cooled the car down and proceeded to goof up on my 1-2, 2-3 (short shifted and soft shifted like I do on the street) and went 11.7 @ 123.5 This was on 18" dr's and granny shifted.

Here is the ad in case you'd like to see more photos: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=411287

Here are a couple pics:

My prior car was a fox body that I spent too much money on (live & learn I guess). It was stroked Windsor (428 cubes, 10.2:1) with a Viper Spec T-56 behind it. I tuned it myself and it made 508 rwhp (SAE) / 471 rwtq (SAE). There were too many small custom detail items on that car to list. It went mid-10's on slicks (granny shifted) at 3500lbs w/driver. It was featured in a few magazines in 05' and I was invited to a competition called "King of the Street" by 5.0 Mustang magazine. I was pretty particular about the details and keeping it clean as well.

Here are some pics from when I had it:

Thanks for reading!!!

Welcome to the forum John. This is a great platform to learn about and just talk about Vettes. Life is all about choices. I'm a Dave Ramsey fan also, so I understand where you're coming from. You'll miss the car, but that's nothing compared to the feelings you'll have when you're able to yell "I'm debt free!" Good luck!

Good lookin' cars...both of them. But, you really need a 'vette. I'm glad to see your wife agrees with me. Now I need to work on mine!
