Default First post - Pre-purchase questions!

Hello all - this is my first post. Looks like a very friendly forum with tons of info.

Writing from Northern NJ -- I'll buy a Corvette in the next few months. It's been my dream car ever since I grew up in the 60s and 70s. What I'm mainly interested in is cruises on great roads all over the U.S., and hanging with other Vette enthusiasts! I have to say that the social aspects are just as enticing as the driving experiences.

There are some questions I hope you could help me with. I'm learning about the premium dealers and Vette specialists, but having had lots of cars in my life, I care about after-purchase more than the purchase price.

1. Should I buy close to home?

2. How can I find a place that will do warranty maintenance quickly and well? I know the car is fast enough for me so I'd like to maximize reliability too.

3. How far does it make sense to take the car for warranty maintenance?

4. Should I post this in the C6 section too?

Anything else you can think of? You can answer here, send me a PM, or e-mail at
<greg@oldskooltrack.com>

Thanks!

1. Should I buy close to home? Don't forget to check out the Corvette Forum Dealers and do a National Corvette Museum Delivery so it does not matter where the dealer is located. CF Dealers are usually large enough to have ample allocations which sometimes are a sticking point with local smaller dealers who only sell 15 or so all year. This reduces your wait time and allows for you to get just what you want options and color wise.

2. How can I find a place that will do warranty maintenance quickly and well? I know the car is fast enough for me so I'd like to maximize reliability too. I will defer on this question to someone who is located in the Northeast near you.

3. How far does it make sense to take the car for warranty maintenance?
This all depends on the quality of the service department and you able to drive for TSBs and other warranty work.
4. Should I post this in the C6 section too?
I would suggest that you post this in the C6 general section as many more people with experience with recent C6 purchases will view your post.

Thanks guys! Yeah, you feel the addiction before just as much as after getting the car!
