My husband and I own a 2005 Vette - coupe - 6 speed - Z51 package -Lemans blue. When we bought it in April of this year, it only had 4,100 miles on it - it's now up to about 10,000 miles. The car is absolutely fabulous and we LOVE driving it.
However, we just a had a major scare the other day and I'm wondering if it's happened to anyone else, or if someone out there can shed some light on the possible problem..........We went to breakfast and parked the car in the restaurant parking lot. We put in reverse, as is required, and set the parking/emgerency brake. The parking area was pretty level - no inclince or decline.
About 15 minutes later someone came running in to the resturant asking who owned the blue vette.
The car had ROLLED backwards out of the parking spot and almost backed in to another car. Luckily, some very nice gentleman stopped the car from rolling further and held in place until we got out there.
The car was still in reverse gear, and the parking brake was still set.
How in the world could the car have rolled? Has this happened to anyone else.
Welcome aboard first off. I own a 2005 Corvette 6 speed as well and I can say without reservation that I have never had that happen to me. I have been on the Corvette Forum since Oct 2004 and I don't remember anyone posting about this issue. Take it to the dealer and have it checked out.
