Congrats on the '99

My turn...
I joined the forum a couple months ago... figured it's past time to say hi.
I'm a divorced home builder with "X" obligations and have been driving trucks for a long time... always wanted a Corvette, but figured they were out of reach until I talked to one of my clients - a car guy with a C5, a Viper and has built a couple of roadsters and restored other cars.
I asked him what kind of sports car he would get if he wanted to spend around 20k... he said check out the 98 Corvettes... He said I wouldn't like a Viper as much - I'm 6-2 - he said they are not as comfortable or as nice - they're fast, but that's about it according to him. So I went to Cars.com and found what I wanted the first day I looked - a black 99 Coupe 6spd w/30k miles for 22.9k... It was all over - three days later I made a deal for 22k and drove it home. BTW, it has 36k on it now...
I'm having so much fun... done a couple autocrosses - which I got great tips for on this forum - thanks for that! I've always loved racing and didn't realize there was so much out there for amateurs.
I'm a new member of the Colorado Springs Corvette Club - great people - not only gained a great car, but new friends and lots of really fun things to do on the weekends. The looks, the waves, the comments - even people yelling out their windows... it's all good.
I'm 52, my kids are grown... it's my turn now!
PS. I've gotten quite a few tips by searching the forum - great people so willing to share info - thanks! I encourage all you speed lovers to get involved in amateur racing and be safe on the streets!
