New Guy from Virginia
Although I'm new to this forum I'm not new to Corvettes. My first one was sitting in my dad's garage the day I turned 21, 1962 Silver/Black. Although I wanted one before that, my dad would not cosign the note at the bank so as soon as the bank opened on my birthday, I made my dream come true! What a thrill, I'll never forget those days, if I could have figured out how to get it in the house so I could sleep in it I probably would have.
19 Corvettes later, including a '54, I decided to stray a little into the Italian cars, one Pantera, 2 Ferrari's. I took one of my Ferrari's to the dealer for the 15,000 mile checkup and received a huge eye opener, the estimate was $8,800, that would buy a nice pre-owned Corvette. So, I can cross off all the Italian cars from my list for now and now start looking for an automatic Corvette driver, but I still root for Ferrari in Formula 1.
Back in the trail I have made in my car life, I worked for the guys that make Corvette's, 10 years with Chevrolet Division of GM. I was an Area Service Manager, District Manager and the Zone Business Manager. I was also the president of a local Corvette club and participated in many functions including our annual Braille Rally for visually challenged kids.
Now I have a part time job buying cars for dealers at dealer car auctions, and will be looking for a driver for my yet to be numbered childhood. The last time I got in a Corvette, three people had to help me get out, so maybe I've lost my mind, again.
Looking forward to joining all of you in your discussions.
PS: I'm not too intuitive with navigating forums, if I get lost, please throw me a life raft.
Thanks,
Steve
