Default Press Release from Corvette Delivery- Chevrolet Rev It Up

CHEVY-POWERED REV IT UPTM 2007 NATIONAL CHAMPION G.J. DIXON TAKES DELIVERY OF GRAND PRIZE, 2008 CHEVROLET CORVETTE

- New York Driver Set Record Score In Last Stop Of Six-City National Driving Competition; Only One Among 10,000 Competitors To Beat Pro Driver’s Time -

SCARSDALE, New York (December 18, 2007) - Just in time for the holiday season, Chevy-powered Rev It Up™ 2007 National Champion G.J. Dixon, 31, of Scarsdale, NY, recently collected the keys to his grand prize, a bright yellow 2008 Chevrolet Corvette – a 1LT model with a manual transmission and the Z51 Performance Package - from Curry Chevrolet in Scarsdale. “I’ve ordered my Corvette for one of my favorite activities, autocrossing,” said Dixon, an experienced racer. “I did a lot of research before ordering the car, and found that the one I ordered was the lightest of them all, perfect for what I want to do with it.”

The most noticeable feature of the Corvette is its Velocity Yellow Tintcoat color. Why bright yellow? “Well, two reasons,” Dixon says. “First, it’s in honor of the Corvette C6-Rs used in the American Le Mans Series, and second, I was captivated by the C6 Corvette since the first time I saw it in yellow. It just looks so exotic, and if I was going to own a Corvette, it had to be in that color.”

Due to adverse weather in the northeast, Dixon hasn’t been able to drive the Corvette much, but he’s making do, putting only about 100 miles on the car since taking delivery earlier in the month. “The car is amazing, as I’ve found in the limited time I’ve had the chance to drive it,” said Dixon. “Unfortunately the weather’s been really bad here lately, so the Corvette is sitting in the garage right now waiting for good weather.”

Dixon also recently redeemed his New York/New Jersey city championship prize, a two-day “Grand Prix Specialty” course at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. “I had a lot of fun at the Bondurant school and had a lot of seat time in the Corvettes they use, which gave me a lot more insight into the car,” he said. “The road course and oval were also a blast, as was the autocross competition, which I won, which was nice.”

The Chevy-powered Rev It UpTM 2007 automotive festival toured six cities in the summer of 2007, featuring a full day of competition and fun geared towards the true enthusiast. At each Chevy-powered Rev It UpTM 2007 stop in July and August – San Francisco, Orange County (CA), Houston, Orlando, New York/New Jersey and Washington D.C - experienced racers and amateurs alike competed for the title of “Rev It UpTM National Champion” and the grand prize of a 430-horsepower 2008 Chevrolet Corvette.
