Default Hello

I have always liked Muscle, Sports and Classic cars. When I was a kid my Uncle always had a new Vette every few years and I always wanted one.

I have a list of cars I wanted to buy and the Corvette seems to be next on my list.

I have had...

1969 Chevelle Malibu
1969/1970 Skylark's
1974 Duster
1976/1977 Grand Prix's
1978 Mustang II 302
1981 Delorean
1992 Supercharged Mustang GT

I have had more cars in between but these are the only ones worth listing.

I have decided to sell my 1981 Delorean as soon as it warms up and buy a Corvette, hopefully a early 2000 Z06.

Any tips or things I need to know please direct me and tell me what I need to know.

Please no Ford or Delorean jokes.

Yeah I left off the "'s" on 2000. It should of said "looking for an early 2000's Corvette" meaning between 2000-2005.

But Hey I really do not know much about the Vette right now anyway but I learn fast.

Since my car I own now is an 1981 Delorean i can easily rattle off any issues or problems you need to know about buying one. Hopefully in a few years I can do the same with a Corvette.

Right now I am a sponge and will absorb anything, I now know there are no 2000 Z06's.

Anything I need to know or where I should start researching?

Aloha and welcome to the CF, good luck on your hunt and purchase of your dream Vette. My suggestion look for a ZO6 from 2002-2004 which the horsepower was bumped from 385 to 405. No ZO6s were made in years 2000 and 2005, so if someone tries to sell you one it is a clone which there are a lot of out there.

Good point ZR-71 --- In my reply to the OP, I should have added the Z06 did not appear until 2001...My bad...

Thank you very much for this useful info. I knew I seen an ad for a 2000 Z06 a while back, now I know it wasnt a real Z06.

OK looks like a 2002-2004 Z06 for me.
