Default Darek-VetteZ51

Welcome to the crazy Corvette family!!! I ordered my 2007 coupe last March and hardly slept until I goy THE call......"your car is ready". That was June 15th. WHOOPEE!!!! In love ever since. I ordered mine with the Z51 option after having driven many Vettes at many dealerships. Black 6-speed , to me, was my dream. I love the way the car rides and handles. A little stiff but my wife says that is a good thing..........Enjoy your new ride!!!

Default Z51/f55

Great info!!
I currently have a '93 with the FX3 suspension. When I run over
a dime I can tell if it's heads up.
I am going to order soon if the admiral doesn't kill me.
I like a firm ride and also own a'07 SRT8 Jeep. Now that's
a pretty firm ride. I would like somthing a little less firm
but without the sway. Maybe a stock suspension with
Z51 sway bars?
God I think I'll have to go to the dealer and see if he
will let me drive a few.
Anyone have the stock suspension with the better
Z51 bars?
Craig

Default Welcome

Welcome to the CF. Like to help you out with your decision but still don't know which option came on the 69. I think it's buckboard spring assist.

This is really a great forum and has really educated me about the car.

Thanks,

Go with the F55. I ordered the same car and color combo and after careful reviews of everything posted on this forum, decided to go with the f55 for these reasons.

1. I don't plan to take the car on a track to benefit from the different gearing and sway bars.
2. F55 is in the ZR1 and seems to be the future of suspensions
3. Sport mode on F55 is close to z51, but touring mode is smoother than base suspension
4. Z51 tires are only good for about 10K from what I read about, so you will definately incur an increase in tire costs.
5. Brakes are the same as z51 so no loss there.

Good luck with your car and whatever decision you decide.

Hey everyone im jeff and i just bought a C5, which had SLP loudmouths & no mufflers 4 an exhaust, but it still just doesnt seem loud enough compared to all those 4.6L ponys. does anyone have any suggestions about how i could get my car to sound a lot louder w/o taking off the cats or spending too much money???

Hi All. This is my first day here also. I too am shopping but I'm no where near as close to a decision as the OP is. But I know I'll face the same decision on this option. This will be my first sports car. The closest I got in the past was a 2003 Acura TL S-type. I've had plenty of luxury/sport cars but never a pure blood. So I would lean toward the magnetic for myself . . . .

However, a friend who owns an 07 with the Z51 said one of the factors in his decision was the concern for when the magnetic shocks would need to be replaced. Will these make 100000 miles? He plans on keeping his car that long and didn't want to face a $2400 bill just for shocks.

Welcome and I'd say Z51 comes with several performance enhancing features.
