Rookie Corvette Guy
Hello folks, several months ago, I bought a low mileage 05 Convertible Vette from FLA,, very nice car, and took it to a detailer and had a few spots removed and triple waxed with Zaino. I keep it covered and don't drive it much, and with warm weather coming up,, of course, will use it alot. I want to wax my Vette, but unsure exactly how to proceed, with 3 coats having been applied, do I add a top finish, do I have to stick with Zaino, do I have to remove the base wax coatings and reapply,, my guess is I can add to the top, however, being new, don't want to screw up, so,, a little advice would be greatly appreciated. I bought some Pinnacle Carnauba, but am afraid to use it without really knowing exactly whats up,,,, thanks Kelly Charlotte, NC

You get to the various sections using the "Forums" drop down at the left of the red bar about a 1/4 of the way down from the top of the section pages.
Okay, so you have Zaino on the car. Zaino is arguably the best you can get. Many disagree and there are hundreds of opinions on other things to use but, by most opinions in the C6 section, Zaino is the way to go. Zaino is not a wax, it is a polymer that bonds with the paint. Assuming your Zaino was applied correctly the first time all you need to do is maintain it and add to it as you feel like it. Unlike wax, Zaino does "build up" the more you put on (obviously there is a limit but I don't know what it is). It gets better, deeper shine the more coats you put on. Most folks put on a fresh top coat of Z2 about twice a year. You could add a coat of Z5 first, to add depth, then the Z2 to finish because the Z2 gives the shine and UV protection. Then just keep the car clean with regular washing using Z7 Car Wash and maintain between washings with Z6 Gloss Enhancer which is the same idea as most Quick Detailers.
