My First Vette
This is my first Corvette.
(I've never even ridden in one!) It has been my dream car forever! Actually, the car arrives in a few days and I can't wait! It is a 77. I know, 'rubber bumpers' but this is the year I graduated high school and maybe for that reason it has always been my favorite body style. If money was no object, I would have looked for a frame up restoration, in the same body style, but money is always an object.
My DD is an F-250 so I won't have to depend on the vette for my primary transportation but I sure would like to get it in shape enough to drive every sunny day there is...and there are a lot of them in Houston! I am not looking to create a showcar, just a dependable head-turner that I can drive 2 or 3 days a week.My last child at home is a 15 year old son and I imagine a lot of father/son time in the garage ... and driving. (Mom will just have to understand.) My mechanical experience is...well, lacking... I have done minor mechanical work, (ie. replaced water pumps, alternators, brake rotors, etc. but nothing serious and certainly nothing like I anticipate having to learn and do in the near future. I will be combing the forums for a ton of 'how to's" during the coming years! I don't believe I would have ever had the courage to take this step without this forum. There is just a ton of knowledge here that will hopefully go a long way in making up for my lack of experience.
Anyway, I just wanted to say 'hello' and warn everyone that there is another new guy with little experience now on board.
One question: If you could recommend 2 books that would help someone with my experience what would they be?
Thanks in advance for all your post and efforts that will help me out.
Oh, Here are some pics.

Congratulations on a very pretty C3!!!!! Enjoy the C3 General section of the Forum. I suggest you ask your questions in C3 General. The members there will know more specific answers to your questions.
