Hello all. My name is Jim and I just joined up today. I live in Pittsburgh PA. For the last couple months I have been casually looking at Corvettes with a mind to purchase one. My down side is that I do not have much money and I know nothing about mechanics or engines or anything like that. If something needs fixed, I will need someone to do it and therefore have to pay for the labor, youch.
I have been scanning ebay and craigslist and stuff like that keeping an eye on prices. I expect I will have to go with a C4 due to my financial limitations. I would be happy with a C3, but at 6'4 I do not think I would fit. I am basically just at the point where I can finally afford a semi-beat vette so I am wading into the water...
Anyway, it's my first day here so I am going to go look around.
This Forum is divided into sub-forums for each generation of Corvette plus various sub-forums within each generation plus general interest sub-forums. You access the various forums via the "Forums" drop down menu at the far left of the red menu bar near the top of each main page. Have fun.
Welcome to the forum Jim. Have a look around, you'll find a wealth of info here. Actually if I had known about this forum before I bought my C5, I would have been much more knowledgeable and would have probably negotiated a better price. Knowledge = Money in this world we live in.
Welcome aboard Jim. Check out the regional section for your area and you may find a club or other CF Members that can offer you assistance in searching for a Corvette.
Welcome Jim and good luck in your search for your Corvette. Take your time and know what your buying. There are a lot of great deals out there but a lot of unscrupulous sellers also. I am originally from Mckeesport, PA but have not been there for many many years. Good luck, Donn
