Greetings Vette fans. I bought a 2004 Z06 last June. I've been a member of the Z06 forum, but it wasn't very active. This place looks to be a much better place to get info. Right now I'm still pretty happy with the car in stock form though I do have Koni adjustable shocks on it for autocrossing.
I love the car! Big surprise huh? It's my first Vette and was basically a 50th birthday present to myself. I sold my '04 Mach 1 Mustang to get into it. I loved the Mach, but it had an auto tranny which just wasn't working for me. But I love the Z06 a lot more!
Back in 1987 I bought my first sports car, an RX7 Turbo. I looked at and thought about buying a C4 Vette, but the 7 was considerably less money. I drove that car for 17 years before selling it to buy the Mach. After driving this car for about a day I realize I should have done it back then, but oh well better late than never. As I said for now I'm pretty happy with it. Had it on the track down in Pueblo 3 times, and it's an amazing car for the track. Also autocrossed it a few times.
Anyway glad to be here. I'm sure at some point I'll get the itch to start adding more power, and asking tons of questions.

Thanks. Just looking at the variety of cars in these responses says a lot about the heritage. A subject I'm familiar with now, but which caught me completely off guard is "the wave". I had no idea what was going on at first. Now when I wave from my Tacoma it's fun to see the looks sometimes. So thanks for the welcome and here's a wave at you.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
