I am a Mustang owner who has come to the conclution that there is no better performace car bargain then a Corvette. I still love my Mustang but what I have learned is that all the modifications in the world can't turn it into something its not.
The bottom line is I am in the market for my first Corvette. I have been viewing your site for a while now but since the desicion to buy became inevitable I wanted to join.
First let me say thanks for having me.
Second, (which is my first question) If you had 25k to spend on a used vette, would you pick up a nice C5 or wait and find a higher mileage C6. FYI, C5 Z06 is not an option since I want a removable top (another thing a Mustang can't do).

Welcome to the Forum!!!
If it was me I'd choose the C5 but, then I'm a little biased. Get as new as possible like an '04,you shouldn't have any problems getting a low mile '04 for 25K.Good luck to you.
You'll hear all kinds of comments on what you can buy with $25 G's. In my opinion you could get a really nice low mileage C5 or go to a mid mileage C6. Probably a good 2004 or a good 2005 or so. Don't be in a hurry. Buying your first Vette is one of the most exciting things you'll ever do.

Welcome! Good luck with your decision. Both the C5 and the C6 are great cars, but if I were you, I'd probably look around for a C6 to take advantage of the latest advances in handling, engine, etc.
I drove both when shopping for my vette. I ended up going with a 2006 C6, but both cars are a lot of fun! You can't loose either way. If you choose the C6, you have the current body style which will not feel so old when they come out with the C7
Welcome aboard and I would agree with the comment about taking your time and looking around. There are many Corvettes for sale right now and drive both generations and make your decision.
