Just returned from Bowling Green with my new, and first, coupe 3LT. The museum delivery and plant tour exceeded my expectations. The 750 mile trip home is another subject. I'm used to my Avalanche for travelling and the Vette was definitely a different ride. GLAD I'M HOME.
On a sad note, my wife and I witnessed the last of the cars to be made for a while. They will finish all orders by the 19th and then shut down. Due to the economic uncertainty the plant will be closed, at least, until the end of February. The autoworkers were very cordial but wanted to share their views on the current situation. I had not comment.
Of course the Vette is not going away but it's return is up in the air right now. No orders, but I have not checked, are being taken at the dealerships. They also said the development of the C7 has been pushed back at least 3 or 4 years. All of this comes from the museum tour guide and I cannot confirm its total accuracy.
