Hi, the name is Todd, and I joined a while back while I was working on a customers 82 C3. I was doing an engine swap for him. We pulled the L83 for a built 383. Before this vette, I did a rolling restoration on a 78 L48 vette for another customer. After working on these two vettes, I was hooked!
I aquired a 78 Pace car with L82 (mildly built), 4speed, and all options. It belonged to a very good friend of the family. He purchased it in 1992here locally and then moved to Houston, TX. He swore when he bought the car that it would not become a garage queen, and then work kept him away untill he let it sit. I have been after him to let me come pick up the car and bring it home. Finally he decided to move back here and so I went and picked up the car. I had never actually seen the car until the day I loaded it on my trailer. It had been under cover in a carport. She looks really good but as with any vette that has sat untouched, it has issues. I have already replaced all four brake calipers. I replaced the intake and carb. I have been detailling the enginebay and now I am looking at the suspension.
Anyway, I will be picking brains and so fourth. Hope to meet some of you in the future.
Thanks for the very warm welcome from everyone! I am anxious to get this Vette back to perfect. I have really enjoyed it so far and it is going to be hard to take her down to do the suspension, but I know it is going to be better afterward.
