Hi all, just bought my first sports car and feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I convinced my father to take the plunge last year and get his 66 coupe with a 327. I was used to economical 4 bangers and V-6 family sedans so when he let me take it out and I opened up the throttle...you know the rest. I grew up admiring the styling of the older Corvette's and thought that no other sports car could look as good and feel as American as an old C2.
A year later I found myself purchasing a black convertible 65. The catch is that a previous owner changed the paint from ermine white to black, replaced the fenders with 67's, and put 67 wheels on it too. The numbers don't match, but I am thrilled to be in such a fun vehicle. Not to mention my son LOVES it...and he's not even 2 yet! Which just goes to show you what a genius Zora was.
My first order of business is going to be a rebuild. But ultimately I have to decide whether it would be worth it to restore the car to the original. Look forward to learning a lot on here.

Welcome to the forum Patrick. Not being a numbers matching car gives you more freedom on the direction you want to take. I hope you and your son have years of fun with your vette.
