Default Hard question: 03 Z06 or 05 C6 ?

Hi guys. I'm on the market for my first Corvette and I have $22-25k to invest on it.

Hard question: considering that booth vehicles have less than 40k miles, which way should I go ? A 03 Z06 or a "regular"05 C6 ?

Both have the same HP and torque. Is the Z06 so much faster ?

Thanks !

Thanks ccrazor.

I did read the older posts with the same question, however, as prices changed a lot, I'd like to know if it is still a good deal to go with the "old" body style instead of the new one, if they have the same power.

Welcome! If you can test drive the cars, the decision is much easier.

Welcome to the Forum!!!!!! Good luck with your decision. Enjoy the Forums.

A short answer to your question is a question. What do you want from your Vette? The C5 Z is a more raw, engaging, driver's car. The C6 is a more refined, modern, comfortable car. All things being equal, the C5 Z is a tiny bit quicker in a 1/4 mile race than the '05 -'07 C6 (but it would still be a driver's race in the real world). The C5 Z would probably FEEL quicker to you if you drove them side by side but that is due to it's raw power delivery but it isn't actually as different as the C6.

The general advice is to buy the newest car you can afford. Since both cars you are considering are the same money it comes down to what you want from the car. Best of luck.
