New Guy needs help
I would like to say that I am new to Vette's and I love the web site. I am posting this in a effort to locate my father's vette he had when I was 9yrs old. He passed away when I was 11 in 1986 and my mother sold the car shortly after. I have had no luck finding any thing that has the vin on it around my mother's house. The info I do know is that it was a 61 with a 283 and a four speed white with a blue insert. The car may have went to Germany. I remember the the guy who purchased it saying that was going over there but was not for shure. This may be a shot in the dark to find this car. If any of you know a better way to look for the car let me know. I am shure there might be a better way. Thanks for any help.

all 61s had a 283ci engine, with different HP ratings.
according to my Black Book, there were a total of 10939 convertibles made, of which
fuel injection:
118 were 275hp
1462 were 315hp
2x4 carburator:
2827 were 270hp
1175 were 245hp
the remainder were 230hp
without a VIN, this will be very difficult.
have you checked the motor vehicle dept files?

I have a 1987 ette that will start sometimes and other times it will not make a sound when I hit the starter. I have tried boosting the battery but still not make a sound. Later it starts very quickly. What could be the problem?

White with blue coves would be quite rare as far as I know. If it stayed those colors it would a little easier to track down IMO. Did you try the C1 registry?
