Hello everyone-
1st time corvette owner. 1966 BB coupe, given to me by my wife. This was her fathers car which he owned since 72. Quite a few surprises as things unfold. Needs a bit of work but is running. No chance of restoration so the goal is a solid driver. This site is a wealth of information! Thanks to all.
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!! Congratulations on your first Vette....lucky guy!! Enjoy the Forums.
I encourage you to reconsider your position on restoration. A '66 BB is pretty valuable and rare and should be preserved if at all possible. Just sayin'.
A little more info. Mossport green - originally red. Front glass is 67, hood is 66 BB, NOM - cyl heads are correct for 66 390 hp, block casting is 67 396. 4spd. Rear sway bar, 80 psi oil gauge. No POP or window sticker. A O Smith body - no side pipes. Found wrong rims installed (been sitting 10 years). Suspect further front suspension damage but drives ok. Gave it a bath, put proper sized wheels and fired it up! Needs alot of attention. Just taking it slow for now, have alot to learn. Yeah the wife is great! Her father left her quite a legacy of vehicles...
