I own a small cylinder head porting company that does a fair amount of race work w/ ls engines. The time came for a new "non" race shop toy... and the camaro was what I thought would be a perfect fit. Found an open pre-order and placed deposit. When the car showed up I was greeted with 2 problems.. the dealer installed swirls... and the interior...swirls can be fixed... but the interior needed some work for my personal taste.
Felt pretty bummed... Have always loved the c6's.. I tune a few street / track day cars that make well over 600rw on motor... and always have a real hard time letting them go back to their owners. But for some reason I have always had a "corvette" image stuck in my head that I didn't think I fit into. Right at the moment that I was thinking this...apparently a friend at GM powertrain was thinking the same thing. He was aware that I turned my preorder down..and knew I was in love w/ the c6's...specifically AO ones w/ black gut. So he went looking on his own and found one... Thanks Joe!
Now, the proud owner of a AO/C6... I can't stop asking my self why I didn't do this earlier!!! What was I thinking!
The first thing done to the car was a simple tune... when I pulled it off the rollers, I immediately got that sick feeling of having to give it back to its owner...Then I remembered...THIS THING IS MINE
