Hello to all,, Just joined this group and looking for some info. Don't have a vette yet but am working on a deal for a 1960 that the owner thinks he can't do without. Right now am restoring a 1955 Belair hardtop which started as an original rebuild but have since deviated when I saw a 1968 corvette at a car show with "lambo doors" Wow,,! Well, I took the plunge and ordered a set of hinges from Auto-loc and let me tell you,, the work began. After a few oh, oh's and just a few cuss words,, I got em done. I have had several people actually stop and take pictures whenever I roll it out of the garage for clean-up. I love it,,!! I had installed an under the floor master cylinder from a 1959 chevy pickup but have bought what I think is a corvette type master cylinder that I want to install. It has huge 1 1/4" pistons! The casting number is 5472002 or might be 6472002. Can anybody ID this for me or point me to where I can find years used and applications so I can buy new repair kits?? Thanks for your time. Joe r
Welcome!! I see you asked the same question in jalopyjournal dot com yesterday. If you actually have reason to believe this is a Corvette master cylinder I suggest you take a few pics and post them with your question in the General Forums for each Corvette Generation. Then someone might recognize it. Good luck.
If you need help with posting pics here, here is a tutorial. Most of use photobucket to host them, it's free:
Hey Guys and Gals,,, many thanks for the many welcomes to this site. I'm impressed,,! I hope to be able to contribute along the way,,,,although i tend to get long winded sometimes,,opps there I go.
For RickT,,, I guess I am a little slow this AM in trying to learn to use Photobucket.,,. I managed to get to the screen "upload images & videos with my 4 pics at the btm. when you mouse over a pic it shows 4 options under pic. left click on IMG code and get a yellow flag "copied" and highlights (IMG)HTTP//i7 box next to it. Try to left or right click but no "paste" option there. What am I doing wrong? thanks to all. :oJoe r

I'm not fully understanding what you are asking. If you are in photobucket and have your pics uploaded to photobucket then, mouse over each pic separately which opens the 4 options. Go to the IMG Code box and right click, select Copy. Then come back to your posting here, right click and Paste. That will paste the IMG code into your Forum post. Repeat for each pic you want to add. Be sure to hit the enter key to place a line space between each pic when you paste here.
Hope that helps. If not, let us know. One of us will help you work it out.
Title your thread something like, "Can Anyone ID This Master Cylinder?". Tell them your history/story that goes with it and why you need it identified.
I doubt it has anything to do with C4 or later but.....who knows. Try them if no help in the other forums. Good luck again.
