I recently purchased my first vette and have noticed a slight looseness in the steering. The wheel seems to turn about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch before the steering engages. Is this normal? 05 C6 . Also, can anything be done about the brake noise?
Jim
Hey Jim welcome to the Forum Congratulations on your new vette and if there is a problem I hope it's a minor one. Enjoy your new car and your time here on the forum.
THE C6 STEERING IS VERY RESPONSIVE WHEN THE CAR IS OFF ITS NORMAL FOR THEM TO HAVE A LITTLE PLAY BUT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING IT SHOULD RESPOND RIGHT AWAY, WHAT KIND OF BRAKE NOISE ARE YOU GETTING?, WHEN DOES IT DO IT?
when the car is running there is a little play....almost have to adjust constantly when going in a straight line.....brakes make a noise when lightly touching them not on hard braking.
WELL BASED ON OUR EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE SOLVED NOSE PROBLEMS BY BURNISHING THE ROTORS AND SANDING THE PADS; THERE IS ANTI SIZEE THAT CAN ALSO BE USED IF THE PADS ARE DOWN TO 50% WE ADVICE OR CUSTOMERS TO JUST WAIT FOR A BRAKE JOB, DEPENDING ON HOW BAD IS IT.
ON YOU STEERING PROBLEM YOU SHOULD PROBABLY TAKE IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT.
