Default New guy! Dreamin' bout a vette...

Hey guys.

Name's Chris (obviously) heh.

I'm a diehard chevy guy. Dream car has ALWAYS been and ALWAYS will be a Z06.

I currently drive a 2006 Supercharged Cobalt SS. Blacked out like hell (I've got pics if requested)

Not at the vette level.. FWD.. 2.0L.. Haha. Pretty much done everything I can do with it without doing a full turbo swap and what not. Decided not to go that route though, as I'd LOVE to own a z06 one day and go big or go home ..

Give me time! I'm only 20! Haha.

Thanks for reading.

Thanksss man! Heyy quick question. Is it way out of hand to consider the switch-a-roo from my balt to a vette?

What can I be looking at price wise for a c5z?

Thx c5R... Would you happen to have an answer to my question I asked above? I want to get familiar with the vette world and know what is a good deal and what's not..

Hi Chris and welcome to the Forum
Dreams can and do come true
I've seen C5 Z's in the low $20K's. Just the way the market has been going. Another option would be a C4 ZR-1. Some nice examples are less than $20K and depending on mods and the driver, a ZR-1 is usually quicker than the Z06

Dave! You came through my man! Haha. I thought people were robots just welcoming me to the forum for a second

You answered my question man!

Here's the deal.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the c6z.. But I know that is impossible until later on down the road..

I never used to like the c5s but.. They grew on me.. I like them now when they're done right. As for the c4 zr-1.. Idk if I would grow to like that body style when it already took a lot to accustom myself to the c5..

And I figured they would be more expensive than the c5 z06's since they're a lot more rare?

Hmmm..

Think I can find a worth-while c5Z under 20k?

What are the years to look for in the c5s? Pros/Cons of other years?

Anyone who can answer any of my above questions please chime in.. I know I sound like a newb but I gotta start somewhere! Thanks!

Chris, if you can find a C5Z under $20K, it's probably seen it's better days. If you're patient, you can find a nice one close to $20K where someone is desperate to sell because of finances. I'm not a C5 expert so I can't help you with differences between years. Go over to the Z06 part of the C5 section and ask those guys. Good luck

Oh and of course look in the C5 "for sale" section

Thx Dave! You're actually helpin' me here..

Lemme know if you find a nice c5Z plz!

I think I like Quick Silver, Black, and red..... If I can find something below 20k that would be awesome and feasible...

PM me or however you wanna get in contact! Thanks!

P.S. Any idea on how insurance for a c5Z would compare to my supercharged cobalt?
