Hi everyone. I have been visiting the Forum for some time in anticipation of finding the Vette just for me. Finally found it in June and have been enjoying the H*** out of it since. Even the wife likes to ride in it, and that is saying something since she is hung up on SUV's.
Bought a lightly used 08 Coupe in pristine condition with 6781 miles on it and the previous owners never had it in the rain, although I cant say I havent. Its a Victory Red 4LT (Linen on Ebony) Z51 A6 NPP Polished wheels 6CD Bose/no nav with the standard top (not glass) which I much prefer. Here in VA we have to have a front license, and since my boss who has a Z06 got busted for no front plate, I bought the polished low plate holder from ZIP and it looks great IMO since I have to have one. Other than that all I have done to this point is install Mild to Wild and Lloyds mats. 2 days after I picked it up, a stone came out of nowhere on I-264 heading toward Va Beach and hit my windshiel at the bottom just above the hood and put a star in it. Before we got home that evening, it grew in 2 directions over to the far left and up toward the top and to the right heading toward drivers side almost 2 feet. I insisted that my insurance Co. have the repair shop (Binswanger) order the windshield from the GM dealer which they said cost $95 more than Binswanger could get one for to ensure it had all the right numbers and LOGO's (GM). They humored me and it has been successfully replaced, but what a bummer. As soon as I learn how to post my picture in the Garage, I will post my car w/my Harleys. Didnt mean to be so verbose and thanks for having me.
That was smart insisting on the windshield from the GM dealer - that way you're keeping the car intact, less things for you or someone else to fix in the future - I wish the former owner(s) of my '69 did that. Good luck with it and looking forward to pictures.
