My name is Jason and my wife has a '03 Z06. Everyone thinks it's mine.
I found this board while trying to diagnose the non-operational passenger window. We had bought the car used in '05 and just blamed used car blues on the window. But it was a Vette and so who cared if the passenger window didn't go down. All was fine for years until the driver side window went out that is. Paid to have that fixed 'cause the wife said "Do not touch my car!". Ouch!.
That changed last weekend while we were out and I hit the passenger window button and WOW, it went down. Almost all the way. But it wouldn't go back up. Decided to save some money and fix it myself. The wife agreed this time. Read all 26 + pages in tech on this very common issue with Vettes. Who knew? Tried all the free stuff first. Hit with a hammer here and there. No go. Ordered the relays and here I wait for them to come in. I decided to start the car to make sure the battery was still good. Hit the window button on the drivers side and about wet myself when the passenger window went down, then up, and so forth. Surprised the wife when she came home and saw her car in the driveway.
Thanks to this forum I saved a bunch of money. I think I read somewhere in that thread about donating some of my saved money to St Jude's. I think I will.
Welcome to the Forum and the fascinating world of Vette maintenance!!!!!! There is more good info here than in several old sets of encyclopedia (dating myself there) and it's better than Google. If you can't find what you need to know you just ask and someone will have the answer. Enjoy the Forums.
