I am a Corvette rookie since I just purchased a 79 vette back in November. So there is still a lot for me to know about the car. I am also a 57 Chevy and 63 Plymouth Fury guy. I hoping that I can learn a lot from the site and others. My next project is changing the differential fluid. I have the additive.
Although I have a drain plug on the 57 Chevy, I do not see one on the corvette. So am I correct in assuming that the differential housing would have to be removed to really drain the rear end well? At this point I am planning to use my suction device to remove the oil from the filler plug. That will be a bit time-consuming.
It is nice to know that this resource is available.
Welcome to the Forum Eddie Post over in C3 and those guys can answer any question you may have. Sounds like you have some very nice cars to play with. Enjoy your time on the forum.
Thanks to you all for the warm and quick welcome. It was very much appreciated. You have made me want to go into the garage now and just look at the car. I like that.
Welcome to the forum. As for draining the differential fluid, you can use a pump to suck out the old fluid out, or you are going to have to remove the cover. Using a pump won't allow you to drain it completely. Good luck.
