Hey yall im new to the forum and just saying whats up to everyone. I dont have a Corvette of my own yet but am almost ready to buy one. Im looking for a late 90's model but am not sure what to start with. Any suggestions for a beginner?
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!!!! When you say "late 90's" do you have any idea what you might want? The models switched over from the C4 Generation ('84-'96) to the C5 Generation ('97-'04) in '97. There is a big difference between the two. Both are great but very different. You might want to spend a few weeks in C4 General and C5 General to get some education and ask some specific questions of the members who own them. Best of luck. Enjoy the Forums.
Ive put some thought into it already and think im gonna go for the C4. I dig the old school body type. Also ive been looking in classifieds and craigslist in my area and they tend to be more in my price range. Im definitely gonna check out the C4 sections too to talk to some owners. Thanks for the welcome!
That's great but I respectfully suggest you not limit your car search to "just your local area". Expand, at least a little. Check the C4's For Sale section here and there are several good Corvette brokers around the country who might be able to help you. It will give you an idea on money and condition and who knows, you might find one within a few hundred miles. Just think, your first experience with the car would be a nice leisurely (maybe ) drive home to get acquainted. Just sayin'. Again, all the best to you.
Me Too - just a few generations older! Welcome to the Corvette Forum - As you've already seen, lots of great information & knowledgeable Vette owners here!
