The search is over......
.....finally found my perfect C5....for me anyways! Names Greg, from Los Angeles. Married, too many kids to count, some just graduated collage, some still in collage, some in high school., 5 total. In the medical field. Been searching for a C5 convertible, 6 speed, Sebring Silver, black interior....since last August 2009. Searched AutoTrader, CL, etc. So many times, I would find my color choice, but would be back east somewhere on a car lot, covered in snow, or in Florida, but miles too high, or modded so much, wouldn't pass smog here in CA. Nothing close to LA usually worth looking at, or if there was, car would have 3 plus owner's, on some small car lot, always 100+ miles or more away. I really wanted to buy from a private party so I could talk to the owner, etc. Then, about 2 weeks ago, during my nightly searches on the web, my perfect C5, the way I wanted, it showed up less than two miles from the house! Orginal owner, older gentleman, always garaged, 99 C5 Sebring Silver convertible, 6 speed, black leather, perfect paint, Bra, mirror bras, chromed factory '99 wheels, original window sticker, original sales brochure, (the big color one) the video tape, owners manual, every receipt for the oil changes with proper oil, new Goodyear runflats, HUD, active handling, 12 CD changer, clean AutoCheck, no accidents, etc. Only option he did not order was the select ride. 47K miles/$21K. I bought it on the spot! Maybe a couple thousand more than I wanted to spend, but I always say it's worth it to spend a little more when you can meet the original owner, and he has all the documentation since new. Everything works as it should. Anyway, car cover just came in today, put that on. Also used this site to find out about that pesky squeeling noise from the idler pullies/tensionser. Replaced today the two belts, tensioner, idlers....no more squeel! Did a Mobil1 oil change also. Be here nightly, checkin' in. Thanks for the great site!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes, and I do mean warm...it's 87*
here in LA today. I kept telling myself, no, no mods to the C5. But, just like on my Harley, I can't help myself and not mod! I ordered a set of Depo's, (black), last night. Always liked the way the C5R looked with these same shape lights. I checked out the other non-pop options, but still like the Depo, back and forth till I pulled the trigger and placed my order. Despite the frog eye look, I still like them.
New wheels next...no, no, no, I like my chrome wagon wheels...for now!
