Hello everyone, I just got another Vette and it has been quite a journey so far. I had a 79 L-82 that I bought in 1990 and sold off in 1995. Regretted every minute of it. Had kids (4) got divorced and have custody of them - so another Vette had to wait.
Until now....
Picked up a neglected 1986 4+3 (could not afford anything else especially another C3 - loved those curves) for under 2K with 77,000 miles. There have been too many issues to just start listing and some awfully STRANGE findings, BUT- i have gone from not even cranking (damn Vats) to being able to drive it every day (just no digital dash) in 2 months for less than 1K. Now that most things are working, time to tear it apart to make her presentable again and as reliable as possible. I forgot what a v8 felt like. I am so glad that I got a c4 - they are definitely unique and my children think the antique is so cool (I'm getting old).
I have been reading this forum since before I purchased it and cannot thank you all enough for the information I have attained.
The "hood ornaments" are my 6 year old twins. I said I would dance on the engine when I got it to run. I did (I have pics of that also) and they decided that they had to do it to. The little ones are more interested in the project than the older two (the boy is already laying claim to the Vette). They are out there with me the whole time I am working.
Congratulations on your latest Corvette & Welcome to the Forum! As you've already seen lots of great information & knowledgeable Vette owners here! Sounds like you've got a fun project there!
