Just got a fantastic deal on an '82 C3, now getting anxious about restoring it. It's being housed in Northern New York, can't wait to start using it as a DD.
However..
I've been doing research on the braking system for that era and it's basically agreed upon that the stock C3 brakes are in dire need of upgrade. Problem is, the upgrades are pretty varied, there's not a lot of consensus on the most beneficial upgrade. Would like to go through Zip, and I'd benefit from some CW regarding an upgrade. I'm assuming mine are bad, not because the pedal goes to the floor, but because it's an '82 and the stock brakes need constant repair.

Welcome to the forum!
We can help you out with your brake upgrades. Just let us know what you are looking for. Do you just want to replace what you have or are you looking for more stopping power?

Initially, I was looking to completely replace them. I am going to tow the vehicle to a local Chevy dealership here in NNY, and let the service dept give me a no-BS answer as to what I need. So far, I'm assuming it's a brake power booster issue, but given the age of the car and increased potential for brake failure sometime "soon", I'm more inclined to purchase a complete set of upgraded brakes. I'm not one of those "matching numbers" guys, could care less really about non-GM brakes added to the coupe. Just want a safe car to drive during the non-snowy months and enjoy an American made ride. Waiting for a job-wise ballpark figure from the service dept before I choose which upgrade to go with.
Thank you for the warm greetings.
