Hi folks! Been lurking and reading this great forum for a while now. Ordered a new Grand Sport about a month ago and am patiently (not really) waiting for a production date of 5/4 and museum delivery - probably 5/26! Will drive it back home to Lakeway, TX, just West of Austin.
Cyber Grey Grand Sport coupe, two tone ebony/titanium interior, Nav, chrome wheels and dual mode exaust - can't wait.
This will be my third Corvette - have owned a 61 (wish I still had it!) and a 77 - this will be the first brand new one!
I really have enjoyed all the threads and look forward to participating in the discussions.
Congratulations on your new (soon to be) Corvette & Welcome to the Forum! As you've already seen lots of great information & knowledgeable Vette owners here!
Congrats on your new Vette! I just joined the forum and posted a thread: "To go newer or not to go newer. That is the question." Until recently, I thought I was set trying to find my '77 Corvette (I saw you owned one in the past), but then, I started researching newer Vettes: 2005-2007.
This will be my first Corvette and I am looking to enjoy it on the weekends and having fun.
Since you have owned a vintage '77 and now, a new one, can you send me some of your pros/cons for vintage vs. newer? For example, maintenance? reliability? etc?
